‘A Long Time Coming’
Hitting The Open Road
For those who care or follow these daily blurbs of randomness, after today I’ll be taking the next two days/nights off posting because I’m hitting the highway and going to the middle of nowhere (sorta).
Rolling solo…with no internet or cell service — surrounded by trees and water — I’m stoked about it.
It’s my version of one of a great get-away.
While I’ll be typing notes into my phone about the adventures of the days, due to lack of electronic ability, I’ll obviously be postponing publishing to when I return home.
It’s been a long time coming.
Like many mothers, time away alone (even daily to use the bathroom), is only distant and mystical thought. An idea that likely might never happen between the kids’ ages of 0 and 18.
Circumstance has it that I am able to get away this weekend...to do something I…me…Becky…am doing by all by myself.
Whoa.
First on the itinerary this morning, I’ll be heading to 100 Mile to visit a cousin, then going to 150 Mile to visit and stay with my niece for tonight and then going to a dear family/friend’s place for two nights at their remote and rustic fishing resort Quesnel.
Packed in ‘Cynthia’ are lots of warm clothes, hiking boots, my gold pan, warm bedding, books and my puff coat…’cause #autumninQuesnel.
Now off to hit the open road,
Peace.
