What’s Your Favourite?

I wish that cake was in front of me right now but it isn’t.

A box or two of Duncan Hines cake mix and container of completely oil-based icing always have a spot in my pantry…just in case a cake craving hits.

Birthday cake and vanilla ice cream together is one of my most favourite things to eat ever (close if not the same as cinnamon buns and popcorn).

For obvious reasons and even though part of me would like to, I don’t have one made at all times. Between Jeff and I (and I would throw my sister-in-law Amy in there if she lived with us) the entirety of the cake would probably be made and eaten every day.

One thing that I think is possibly a women-only phenomenon is eating cake and dessert in tiny slices…just to have that one more taste…until the whole piece or item is gone. True? False? (I’m ‘guilty’!)

While I would personally place pies in this category too as they are round and all, I’ll leave cakes on their own for now:

Besides birthday cake and ice cream — any type of cheesecake, DQ ice cream cake, Nana’s coffee cake, Swiss P’s raspberry torte, any kind of chocolate cake, angel food cake with whipped cream and strawberries, my mother-in-laws orange/chocolate pudding layer cake and Costco’s Tuxedo cake are desserts I hope to enjoy at least a few times each every year.

There isn’t always a reason or special occasion needed and after looking at this photo and writing about it…I think I’ll bake up one of those boxed cakes.

Why? Um, because it’s Thursday and cake is life.
