‘Ode To The Friends’

Seeing Them In Real Life…

This morning, before the boys were up and ready to venture out in Vancouver again, I went on an early(ish) walk with a girlfriend.

Wanting to take in everything we could from our short time in Van, she graciously obliged when I asked if she would mind coming to meet me at the hotel. We elbow tapped, grabbed a coffee and hit up Stanley Park for a partial loop.

She is one of those friends you connect with a lot but don’t see often in real life. She also falls in the category of those who are your biggest fans on Facebook, you two could chat for hours about many things, you go way back to childhood family life and they seem to have your back in times when you need it most…if even for a quick chat or message.

It was so nice to actually see each other in human form and I’m sure we could’ve kept walking and chatting for the entire morning. Such a pick-me-up that I didn’t know I needed.

I’m grateful to have a few of those old school ladies in my life and many new ones too.

Though I spend most of my time with my three dude amigos or by myself, there is something special about those close gal pals who you can bounce important items off of, have them tell you what’s up, help you re-set or allow them to remind you of how much you matter.

With kids, without kids, married or not, I heart each and every one of those amazing, helpful and loving women out there…old friends and new. Thank you.
