‘Push Or Press?’

Becoming A Conqueror

--

I began to grow when I learned to truly let go. I began to understand that I could grow in any space no matter how small or dark the starting place was or is.

There’s an important difference between pushing hard toward something and pressing into it.

For many years, I pushed. And I pushed hard.

I led my life with a warrior — or ‘brave fighter’ according to Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary— mentality.

I was a warrior, a fighter, a survivor.

It was good to be those things when the time and situation warranted it but being a warrior is not a long-term goal state.

No one is meant to be a warrior forever because the ultimate goal of a warrior is to conquer.

Being in a constant state of fight and survival wasn’t sustainable and even if many of the experiences I went through were no fault of my own, I realized a few years ago that being a warrior was no longer serving me. I wanted and needed to be a conqueror.

A conqueror is successful, overcomes the fight and lives in a state of peace, joy and triumph.

When I pressed into situations, I was able to learn where and when to let go and how to choose love. I embraced life- my feelings, emotions and circumstance rather than pushed through or away from them.

Through pressing in, letting go, cultivating, trusting and learning to be a conqueror instead of fighting my way through life, I gained something priceless.

True Power.

Not negative power in the sense of possessive negative control but rather;

Power: “the ability to act or produce an effect. [as in] It’s in your power to change things.”- merriam-webster.com

When I gave myself and others space (to grow), shifting began.

You can’t force a seed to open and you can’t yell at it to make it yield fruit faster. You can water it, nurture it and fertilize it…but you can’t force it to grow.

It will grow where it falls and a seed will even find a way to sprout through the roughest of materials such as dry dirty asphalt (photo above) or the tiniest crack.

Seeds…so small yet so powerful.

One small see can produce an abundant life-giving harvest.

If you’re a warrior fighting a battle or you are in a dark small space in life, you can be a conquer and you can sprout toward the light.

Keep pressing in, letting go, moving forward one baby step at a time.
