“Salt Of The Earth”

True Believers Kingdom Assignment

--

“Teacher,” they asked, “when will these things happen? And what will be the sign that they are about to take place?”

He replied: “Watch out that you are not deceived. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am he,’ and, ‘The time is near.’ Do not follow them. When you hear of wars and uprisings, do not be frightened. These things must happen first, but the end will not come right away.”

Then he said to them: “Nation [greek ‘ethnos’…ie: ethnic wars] will rise against nation, and kingdom [political wars] against kingdom. There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences [plagues/persistent diseases] in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven [supernatural manifestations from both God and Satan].

Luke 21:7–11 (ESV)

Times like these when innocent people from all places, on all ‘sides’ get caught in the agendas of ‘kingdom’ [political] and power corruption is absolutely heartbreaking.

Even though we are told these things will happen, it doesn’t make it any easier on our hearts.

What can we do?

What are we called to do?

“You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet.” -Matthew 5:13

*2 functions of salt:

1- inhibits corruption/corrosion (think pickles)

2- adds flavour

At the close of this age, the need for True believers to realize, embrace, believe, and act in their Kingdom authority as ambassadors for Christ isn’t just a privilege, it’s a responsibility for our part in the program.

The Bible is literal.

Yes, Jesus spoke in parables/story but the Bible tells us literal things in advance so we know exactly what to expect, exactly what to do, and exactly how to overcome the enemy.

It’s all in there.

Being the salt of the earth is an assignment for True belivers everywhere to act in faith to inhibit corruption…to be a light in the darkness and to offer direction and hope (flavour) to others toward the One who heals and saves.

I’m calling on professing believers to remember your God-given authority for defeating darkness.

In every total and literal sense…remember or realize that you actually possess the power and authority through the Holy Spirit and in the name of Jesus to cast down strongholds, deliver people from evil spirits, heal the sick, and raise the dead. (Matthew 10:8)

Churches, professing belivers…there’s a disconnect between the crowds that Jesus drew vs. Religious Western doctrine and theology that, in general, has a hard time ‘getting people through a door’?

Why?

Because it’s unfortunately too common that the real Jesus is not being taught or demonstrated. (Deuteronomy 18:21)

The ministry of the real Jesus is literal in every sense. He literally raised the dead, literally healed the sick and literally cast out evil spirits while feeding people and loving them for who they were exactly where they were at. …and He literally gave that same authority *in His name* to His true followers.

In these last days, we are given the outpouring of the latter rain to increase and help us with our assignment but we must abide in the Word and act in faith by taking that first step.

In these times- at all times- prayer is great…necessary…but we’re missing a key part…

Every single historical example and pattern of Scripture when a nation faced something really big, fasting (food…not Facebook, or shopping or whatever but…food) always accompanied prayer.

(See the stories of Esther and Jonah)

One thing we can do from here in Canada…Kamloops…that absolutely makes a difference and changes history…as we are called to do… is corporately (together in a group or nation) pray and fast food…even one meal…together.

So, I’m calling a corporate prayer and fasting time for those interested every Sunday morning for breakfast until 12 noon.

And if you’re curious about or new to this Bible stuff, I recommend starting with the book of Luke (in the New Testament) and grab an ESV- English Standard Version translation as it is one of the closest to original Greek and Hebrew text without the ‘thous’ and ‘thys’.

Faith like a mustard seed…❤️
