‘The Frozen Dessert Battle’

Decisions, Decisions.

Mint Chip ice cream…ew.

Jeff, Braden and Luke all enjoy that gross green and brown flavour yet for myself, it rates further down than the very bottom of the list.

I’m not sure if they get it just so I won’t ask for bite (I have my suspicions) but either way, there is always a scoop of it in one of their three cones on a hot summer day. Ugh.

Braden’s cone will be something like this: Moostracks and/or Coconut and Mint Chip.

Except when we go to Peter’s Pasta where White Chocolate Raspberry is his staple dessert of choice, as far as hard ice cream goes, Luke will always opt for Strawberry Sorbet first…and Mint Chip if it’s a two-scoop treat day.

Jeff is always courteous and asks me what I want (he knows too well I’ll take a bite ;) and I rarely get my own cone. His choices are usually a combination of Espresso Flake, Salted Caramel, Cookie Dough and/or…Mint Chip.

At (almost) all times in our house, we have Breyer’s Natural Vanilla (the black container) and two containers of either Haagen Dazs or Ben & Jerry’s…whatever brand was on sale at 2 for $10.00 at the time.

Gelato, nut-based, sorbet, sherbet, frozen dessert, real ice cream, frozen yogurt, non-dairy, shaved ice, bars, paletas, frozen custard, Dole Whip, Italian ice, granita, slush, freezies, Blizzards, hard ice cream, soft serve…and maybe Cool Whip.

Waffle, sugar or regular cone? Or bowl?

The list could actually continue.

I personally would add a McCain’s Deep ’N’ Delicious to this list of frozen treats but that may be pushing things just a little.

Tonight I replenished the ice cream stash and picked up the staple Breyer’s Vanilla, Cherry Garcia and Salted Caramel Almond as the inquiries as to when the freezer would be stocked again were mounting.

Sitting here typing this I’m also remembering a top personal favourite, Yogen-Fruz-type pressed fruity frozen yogurt except it isn’t available anywhere in Kamloops…that I know of.

Anyone know if it is?

And yet another mindless food blog because my brain isn’t keen on getting too serious these days. I’ll get around to speaking boldly again about other stuff but for today, I’m discussing frozen dessert.
