‘The Teacher Christmas Gifts’
Decisions, Decisions.
Teachers are important and we value them greatly.
At Christmastime over the years, the Starbucks gift card/3-pack of Lindor chocolate balls/thank you note combo has been the standard across the board for all teachers, coaches, helpers etc.
Because who doesn’t like coffee, tea or chocolate?
Always on the lookout for Christmas deals throughout the year, the other day I found the cutest festive mini candles in votives that were 10 for $10.00. That’s a great deal for candles in holders no matter the size so of course I bought them.
2020 could use a little boost so the teacher gifts will get a little lift this December. Being also that holiday scented candles are one of my favourite things…they will get one too.
So, teacher/coach/helper friends…my question is:
What do you appreciate receiving? Yes, ‘it’s the thought that counts’ but we know there are preferences!
And being that it isn’t the 1700’s anymore and we don’t have to pay you in apples and potatoes, would you mind helping the rest of us out with suggestions other than a Starbucks GC? Thanks!
***Side note about the meaning of the apple thing if you didn’t already know (I didn’t):
“The tradition of giving an apple to a teacher started in the 1700s before governments around the world paid for the education of its people. Poor families in Denmark and Sweden gave teachers baskets of apples and potatoes as payment for teaching their children.”-https://www.wockenfusscandies.com/blog/the-symbol-of-teachers-apples/
