‘Yep, Sometimes, This Is Dinner’
Just Add A Few Carrot Sticks
First off!
We are grateful for the chicken tacos my sister dropped off on Tuesday, the pizza my girlfriend brought over Wednesday night, the bananas my neighbour picked up for me, Kathy helping me grate veggies, the rides home school for Luke by my Mother-In-Law and friend Trish…and all the loving gestures, messages, words of encouragement from so many of our friends and family members.
Humbled & grateful…We love and appreciate you so much.

Freshly picked organic garden greens accompanying free-range marinated BBQ chicken and farmer’s-market-bought roasted root vegetables…
…is definitely NOT the meal I fed the boys last night.
Nope.
They got curly fries, canned Peace Tea and a few (*ahem* garden) carrot sticks. Oh, and I did also cook up some nitrate-free bacon. -Pats self on back-.
Jeff worked late so he got a salad and Costco mini chicken pot pies at about 9pm as that’s all I could manage to get together.
I enjoy being in the kitchen, cooking, baking and working with my hands.
Food, the body, health, fitness, nutrition, ‘balance’…all those types of things are fascinating and worthy of my time to investigate.
Even though there’s consideration and effort put forth into caring about all of those bits of life, sometimes the days flow like healthy, vibrant organic greens and sometimes there is surrender to the ease of McCains curly fries.
The uneducated life-lesson for today?
When life gives you...whatever…just do your best.
…and add a side of carrot sticks.
